Music is the Answer - March 2019

For my rather special birthday month of March, I've kept is as disco-flavoured as possible - naturally. Here you can sample delights from myserious French producers, plus a vinyl-only release from Smokecloud Records; these are paired with a mix from Vinyl Department and the Pleasure album from BarbWalters. Here's to being forty and funky.

There's lots of free music downloads on SoundCloud too - if you don't have an account yet, get on it! Follow me at for more... and/or for genre-ish specific stuff, check my SC playlists: Future Funk & Nu Disco, Hip-Hop (Ippity Oppity), R&B, Reggae, Disco Classics, MiniMixes, and Kandi Tastic (Soulful House).

Top Tracks

Deodato - Just This One Night (mikeandtess Edit 4 Mix)
Little is known about this producer; what is almost certain is these beats and delicious disco re-edit of an early eighties hit are tweaked by the hand of the French et c├ęst tres magnifique!

Osmose - Luv Only SCR-024
This serious vinyl junkie offers us an airy and teasing build up before the full vocal drop on this superb rework. Destined for disco dancefloor success, it's released on his own label Smokecloud.

Mega Mixes

BarbWalters - Pleasure (album)
Business Casual Records release Boston-based BarbWalters' 12-track Pleasure album; epic tunes include BBROWN, WBRB 88.9 FM and his collabs with FIBRE, Vantage and Childhood.

Vinyl Department - The PuzzleProject Sessions #50
A lovely blend of vinyl treats here for all. Chief honcho of the Vinyl Department collective (TJ Kloeffler) takes you on a melodic, soulful, and groovefilled disco and house trip. Bliss.
