Music Reviews - January 2021

For the first of 2021's SoundCloud Music Reviews, I've only featured one artist who's appeared before and three newbies - to me at least. With all the extra time, the whole What C Am I? experience has bought me, the mixes are more chilled than usual - and with my friends locked down in the UK, they may also appreciate the downtemponess of it all.

There's lots of free music downloads on SoundCloud too - if you don't have an account yet, get on it! Follow me at for more & and/or for genre-ish specific stuff, check my SC playlists: Future Funk & Nu Disco, Hip-Hop (Ippity Oppity), R&B, Reggae, Disco Classics, MiniMixes, and Kandi Tastic (Soulful House).

Top Tune Reviews

Mickael Jackson - Baby Be Mine (DJ Fudge Rework)

MJ's 1982 "Baby Be Mine" gets revamped via Hong Kong-based DJ Fudge (Tejal Records). Naturally making full use of the vocals, he adds some kicks & boosts the hi-hats and strings superbly.

Those Guys From Athens - Baby

The little-known nu disco duo drop a mesmerizing down tempo edit of a previously unissued 1976 track by Bell Telephunk called 'Love Vibrations'. A rare slice of retro perfection here.

Mega Mix Reviews

Too Slow To Disco FM - We’ve Only Just Begun...

Worthy of another inclusionfor Supermarkt's mashup of UB40 ft Amanda Gorman's stunning poem "The Hill We Climb" alone; other stand out gems by the Carpenters, Chromeo, and Kraak & Smaak.

Groove Garden - La Chillitude

A super-chilled mix with epic tracks and edits of James Brown, Ginji Ito, Bob Marley, the Bee Gees and Michael Jackson no less makes for a delightful one hour and fourty-five mins.
