Music Reviews - December 2015

After an emotional Four to the Floor anniversary, I pulled together some free time to update the choon selection of the site. This month, some edits from the land Down Under via Fluir & Jesse Marantz feature alongside a Flava D refix. Then we have mixes from My NamE and the Scottish sounding Frenchman Frank McWeeny.

There's lots of free music downloads on SoundCloud too - if you don't have an account yet, get on it! Follow me at for more & and/or for genre-ish specific stuff, check my SC playlists: Future Funk & Nu Disco, Hip-Hop (Ippity Oppity), R&B, Reggae, Disco Classics, MiniMixes, and Kandi Tastic (Soulful House).

Top Tune Reviews

Fluir & Jesse Marantz - I've Gotta Have You

An awesome collaboration from Down Under from a a multi-award winning music producer and composer. This one features super catchy vocals, nu funk basslines and a touch of class.

Calvin Harris - How Deep Is Your Love (Flava D Refix)

Ahead of her Beijing debut at Dada, wanted to give you a taste of some laidback hip-hop vibes on this soulful refix of Calvin Harris' chart stormer. Downtempo next-level greatness.

Mega Mix Reviews

My NamE - Voyager's Tape Six

Switzerland's Horeazon Records return with the Voyager's Tape selection. This one is a delectable dose of nu disco and future funk courtesy of the French label boss, stand out edits from the man himself, Hunter & Skibblez, Beer Lover, Louis La Roché, and the legendary Vanilla.

Frank McWeeny - French Toast Radio #62 (free download)

Missed this guy twice in Beijing, here's a few hours of French house-flavoured sounds with Anna Wall guesting… he opens with a slice of funk from the Shanghai crew (Laura Ingalls & Lindberg - Sinji Linji), and adds gems from Kraak & Smaak, Mauro Picotto and Kisch no less.
