Music is the Answer - August 2020 Reviews

As summer peaks out, I return to Dubai's Sandpit to reclaim my throne in the role of Head of Sales & Events for the city's leading F&B group as the industry as a whole is dancing - or not, as the case may be - on thin ice. So after The Covid Comeback I gather some awesome tunage from the Cloud of Sound.

There's lots of free music downloads on SoundCloud too - if you don't have an account yet, get on it! Top Tune Reviews

Dr Disco - Luv Town

Dubplate Disco releases a sublime re-edit of the 1983 classic by Booker Newbury III. Dr Disco adds some punchier beats, tweaks the effects and keeps the original's funky-as-hell feel.

Pharrell - Frontin' (Yam Who? Remix 2014 Remaster)

Yam Who aka Andy Williams revisits his 2013 edit of Pharrel ft Jay Z's Frontin' anthem. A chunky and melodic effort that I've only just stumbled upon myself. Epic on all levels.

Mega Mix Reviews

Newcastle's Chris Bremner & Richard Harle drop a lovely two-hour, disco-fuelled, mix. Includes 'My Love Don't Come Easy' and rehashes by Get Down Edits and Joey Negro.

The Collective Groove - That Disco Groove 012

The London-based collective deliver their monthly hour-long mix of gems, including nu disco belters from Midnight Riot Records, Joey Chicago ending on a cheeky mix of 'Rock the Casbah'.
